Here We Go! It's Be Forreal Tuesday and.............

Seriously, do we consider this town out of hand; or is finding this offensive out of hand? Does it matter, or is this a matter of "persecution?" Just curious as to your thoughts.

Ahhhh, what can I say? Voice, also known as Curtis Allen is a Pastor of a congregation, and a good lyricist simultaneously. I first came in contact with his work by hearing of him from a good friend, Kerry Gilliard aka Black Calvinist. Albums such as "The Crucible," "Process of a Pardon," and the most recent "a theist," exhibit Voice's thorough knowledge of the Text, and ability to convey it in a manner that can satisfy your tightest purist. If you haven't (and most of you probably haven't) heard from this brother in Christ, do yourself the favor. A while back, Voice was invited by John Piper to minister at Bethlehem Baptist, a first for that Church. I'll post a couple songs of his from his latest effort, just so you get the picture. Then go out and support Christ-centered lyricism! Enjoy!

Tuesday First!! @johnwbryson prompts a 2nd Be Forreal Tuesday Post

A brother @johnwbryson has a series of posts on Twitter about food idolatry. It's Tuesday, and I figured as a 2nd submission (also from my fellow employee Walt), I'd enter this object lesson of food idolatry. This is a sad story on a number of levels, and illustrates clearly what has been stated this morning about food. Comfort, relief, hope? It's not designed for that; that's abuse. This post shows what can happen when something good is made out to be ultimate. Food, dear friends, makes a horrible god. Be Forreal

Church Fights Back After Arizona Town Bans Home Bible Study

Monday, March 15, 2010

GILBERT, Ariz. — The national Alliance Defense Fund says a town code that bars religious assemblies in private homes in the Arizona community of Gilbert is unconstitutional.

The Oasis of Truth church began meeting at Pastor Joe Sutherland's house in November and rotated homes several times a week for Bible study and fellowship.

A Gilbert code compliance officer hit the church with a violation notice after seeing a sign near a road advertising a Sunday service.

A zoning administrator told the church that Bible studies, church leadership meetings and fellowship activities are not permitted in private homes.

The Alliance Defense Fund's

Doug Napier says no neighbors complained.

The Scottsdale-based group has filed an appeal with the town of Gilbert, contending its code violates the U.S. Constitution

I suppose we can go on and on about future implications of such an action being upheld, no? This is ridiculous. By show of hands, who thinks that Christians in America WILL indeed see real, live, Church purifying persecution in the near future?
Is this what it will look like, or is that an overshot? Speak up, I'd love to hear what you think.

Underrated/Underheard Fridays Presents............@ReddLettaz

**Disclaimer-For some of my confessional brethren, there are images from the movie "The Passion of Christ" depicted in this video. **

SOOOO, here we are! It's Friday again, and it's time to peer into the Drops of Thought UUF. Today's recipient is none other than Redd Lettaz, a Christian Hip-Hop artist with MAJOR uniqueness in the genre. I first heard of him when I got a hold of his album "Christ Like Seriously," a good while back. I thought it was dope that he would interweave singing along w/ rapping, and some extraordinary (read: witty, funny, unexpected) punchlines to boot. All while exalting the Christ of the Bible. I really took a liking to his this dude, and simply put: forgot about him. He doesn't get all the exposure of some other artists who we also love, but I think we need to keep an ear out for him. Again, he's Redd Lettaz, he has an album dropping very soon called "The Growth Process" and he is this week's Underrated/Underheard artist. Enjoy!

And the Winner Is.........Be FORREAL Tuesday is Here!

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) - Here's one Wisconsin grandmother who makes time for her grandson. Michelle Cuestas of Green Bay used two vacation days and camped out for 43 hours to make sure her grandson would be first in line for the 2010 opening of a Stevens Point ice-cream landmark.

Belts' Soft Serve opened for the year Friday at 11 a.m. Thanks to grandma, 6-year-old Brayden Banks placed the first order.

The Stevens Point Journal said Cuestas arrived Wednesday at 4 p.m. She planned to spend the night in her car but after locking her keys in the car, she instead slept in the Belts bathroom.

Brayden arrived Thursday morning. The two passed the last 24 hours playing games, reading and drawing.

Cuestas said the wait was worth it. She said making memories with her grandson is priceless.

Underrated/Underheard Fridays Presents............NewWorldson

Shouts to @btate0121 for this recommendation. I really enjoyed this song, and am looking forward to peeping more from this group. Hit up their website to find more info at www.neworldson.com! I love finding out about new music/art, etc. Who do you know that you believe should get more shine? I'm not a blogger with super heavy readership, but if only 15 people who never heard of you or your fave artist now know, it's good. With so much junk being given major platforms, some of our lesser known work should at least be given an audience, however small........anyway, this song is a banger-peep it and enjoy. Until next week, Grace and Peace!
